TUITION
Want to learn to play piano?
I am a concert pianist who has a passion for teaching the piano to all ages and stages!
Lessons are always engaging and encouraging and tailored to each student’s unique artistic personality, their personal goals and musical interests. Lessons are available to beginners, intermediate and advanced pianists, to children (age 3+) and adult students and I also have training and experience teaching students with autism, dyslexia and the registered blind. Lessons can be adapted to learn classical, jazz, folk and popular styles of piano playing - all styles are welcome!
MY STUDIO
I own a c. 1890 grand piano originally manufactured by August Hermann Francke (Leipzig, Germany). It was restored in Edinburgh (2010), and it has a beautiful and rich timbre, an una corda pedal and a sustain pedal.
I possess an extensive range of sheet music including educational textbooks such as John Thompson’s Easiest Piano Course, Christopher Norton’s MicroJazz, Carol Barratt’s The Classic Piano Course and ABRSM Piano Exam Pieces Grade 1 – 8.
Online tuition is broadcast from a Motorola OneAction smartphone on a Velbon EF-61 Tripod over an ultra-high fibre optic connection (over 100Mbps) providing high quality live picture and audio without drag.
